These Garden Kits are packed with delicious vegetables for year round enjoyment. They can include everything you need to ‘grow your own ‘with the minimum of knowledge and effort … it's so easy. This Introductory Vegetable Garden is suitable for one person or can be used to give just a taste of the freshness and flavour that could be yours from a larger kit. This is the minimum size vegetable garden we offer and includes raised beds providing approximately 6 sq meters of growing space (4 modules) and enough plants to fill these modules of growing area. We deliver young plants 5 times a year with this sized garden allowing beds to be replanted once the original crop is harvested. The Medium Vegetable Garden – provides approximately 12 sq meters of growing space (8 modules) and is suitable for 2 people. The Large Vegetable Garden – provides 23 sq meters of growing space (16 modules) and is suitable for 4 people or a couple seeking to be self sufficient in vegetables. The planting plans for all the vegetable garden kits are based on a four year rotation. The crops are grown in four distinct rotational groups or ‘courses’ - Potatoes, Legumes, Brassicas and Onions/roots. Our planting plans are designed to allow the crops to be rotated and to maximise the produce from your growing space by carefully spacing each row of vegetables and by using succession planting. For example, leeks are planted in July after the harvest of early potatoes allowing you to grow two crops in one position in a single year. To make it as easy as possible for you, we deliver the plants to your door throughout the year, in time for planting out. A pop up window will appear with all the details of waht is included in that kit. Remember the flavour of vegetables is at its best when crops are young and freshly harvested. Growing your own allows you to harvest tender crops and cook them straight away at a younger age than you would buy in the shops. Combat increasing food costs and eat better with home grown produce. Our salad gardens are highly productive for their size and can offer an almost year round selection of delicious salad leaves. The inspiration behind our company’s name ‘Living leaves’ was our passion for fresh produce. The name is typified by our approach to the growing of salad crops based on the ‘cut and come again’ principle. ‘Cut and come again’ is the principle of harvesting fresh leaves as you need them and then allowing the plant to re-grow new leaves for you to harvest again. This method of management creates strong healthy plants and an abundance of young fresh succulent salad leaves that are very tasty to eat. Salad crops are very easy to grow, as they suffer less from serious problems of pest and disease. Many salad crops are immensely productive since they mature quickly through the summer making repeat planting possible. The growing season can be extended by fitting a Living Leaves Super Cloche to the bed for the colder months. The Supper Cloche provides sheltered protection and helps create a microclimate where the air and soil temperatures are warm up more quickly and stay warm longer thus allowing plants to grow when conditions are right. You will also find your salad leaves are softer and more tender to eat when grown under the Supper Cloche. Our garden kits are highly productive for their size as young plants are planted in the garden up to 8 times a year, new deliveries of plants are made when the plants are ready to be planted. Kits offer everything you need to grow salads with the minimum of knowledge and effort. Growing Herbs could not be easier and with a Living Leaves Annual Herb Garden for the summer months, you should never be short of those essential herbs again. By harvesting small numbers of leaves as you need them, your plants will be able to regenerate new leaves again. We have designed the Mini Kitchen Garden to make it easy to grow and is full of crops which have been chosen to fill children's interests. They grow fast, are full of colour or have unusual fun shapes. For example it includes – strawberries, squashes and climbing beans.
