Planting Tools

The individual Planting Plan supplied with each Living Leaves® Garden gives the number of plants provided with the kit, the distance between each row and the number of plants to be planted in a row, making maximum use of the growing space.  The Living Leaves Growing Guide in turn sets out the depths at which individual plant types should be planted.

We supply three simple and practical tools with each garden Kit to make the planting process very easy and fool proof to follow.

The Bed Ruler

When placed on the edge of the bed, this one metre long wooden ruler marked in centimetres helps you to determine where along the bed each row should be located.

The Unique Living Leaves® Plant Spacer

This simple spacer is cut to fit inside the bed so that it can be laid across from one side to the other.  The spacer is marked on its four sides with different coloured circles, each circle denoting a planting position.

The number of plants per row differs according to the size of plant when fully established.  The number of plants within a row will be either two, three, four, five or ten, depending on the crop type. Positions are clearly marked by coloured dots on the plant spacer, making planting to the correct spacing in every row very simple.

The Plant Dibber

Now knowing the correct positioning of the rows and the correct spacing per row for each crop plant, all you have to do is to use the wooden plant dibber to make a hole at each of the spacings indicated on the plant spacer to the depth recommended in the Planting Guide.
